Join a real archaeological excavation. Strawbery Banke's Archaeology Department plans to to excavate the grounds of the 1762 Chase House site to gather information about its former kitchen ell, barn and privy. February 2010 -- The Gilder Lehrman Institute of American History is seeking nominations for the annual $10,000 Preserve America History Teacher of the Year Award, given to the best middle or high school history teacher in the United States. The Preserve America History Teacher of the Year is chosen from outstanding history teachers in each state, district, and U.S. territory.

January 2010 -- The New Hampshire Land and Community Heritage Investment Program (LCHIP) recently awarded $75,000 in a matching grant to Star Island for replacement and repairs to the roof of the historic Oceanic Hotel complex. Star Island’s grant was one of 33 awards to 19 historical sites in New Hampshire and represents the only one in the Seacoast Area. (continued below)
