December 2009 -- New England Air Show officials learned today that the United States Navy Blue Angels will appear on August 28th and 29th at the 2010 Boston – New England Air Show at the Pease International Tradeport in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. The announcement was made at the International Council of Air Shows’ annual convention in Las Vegas, Nevada. Tickets for the show will go on sale on January 25, 2010, corporate articipation/sponsor programs are still available, and additional information is available at the official air show web site. The Boston New England Air Show is being jointly produced by the Daniel Webster Council, Boy Scouts of America and the Brain Injury Association of New Hampshire.

"We are delighted to be able to bring the world’s most popular air show demonstration team to the people of New England," said Steve Wade, CEO, of the Brain Injury Association of New Hampshire.

"We are already seeing a tremendous amount of energy and excitement within upper New England as we discuss what is sure to be one of New England’s top family activities during 2010, said Michael Kaufman, CEO of the Daniel Webster Council, Boy Scouts of America. "The Blue Angels will headline what will be a sensational lineup of the top air show acts on the circuit."

Already confirmed for the 2010 show in addition to the Blue Angels is New Hampshire resident and national aerobatic champion Rob Holland as well as a demonstration from the WWII era B-25 "Panchito". The show also announced today (December 7, 2009) that the Blue Angels will make their official preseason site visit on Thursday, December 16th with a press conference scheduled for 8:20 AM at the Alpha Flying Group facility located at the Pease International Tradeport (115 Flightline Road, Portsmouth, NH 03801). Due to Homeland Security restrictions this event is open only to working media and invited guests.

The Boston – New England Air Show was reformed from the former Pease Air Show, which was historically a mid-tier air show held at Pease International Tradeport and the New Hampshire ANG Base every other year. Beginning in 2010 the Boston – New England Air Show has been designed to be a large scale event. The event will be marketed regionally to a marketing area including up to 4.5 million people. In addition to being a first-class aviation event, The Boston – New England Air Show supports two of New England’s finest community organizations. The Daniel Webster Council, Boy Scouts of America serves more than 18,000 youths annually. The Brain Injury Association of New Hampshire is a private, non-profit, family and consumer run organization representing over 5,000 New Hampshire residents with acquired brain disorders and stroke.
