Every summer for the past 22 years, Museums of Old York has hosted thousands of visitors at its annual Decorator Show House. This year will be no exception. This year’s fundraiser runs from Saturday, July 16 through Saturday, August 13 and will be held at Emerson House, located at 31 Long Sands Road in the heart of historic York Village.  (Continued below)

MOVIES THRU SEPT 30

Sub Rosa Drive-In is back and is bringing cult movies and drive-in flicks to Portsmouth with some help from 3S Artspace. After a brief hiatus, Sub Rosa returns on Friday, July 22 with a special screening of the 2002 horror comedy classic “Bubba Ho-Tep.”  The show will take place at the future home of 3S Artspace, the historic Frank Jones Fermentation Building on Islington Street in Portsmouth. As part of the Prescott Park Arts Festival 37^th season, celebrated singer-songwriter Shawn Colvin will perform in Prescott Park as part of the River House Concert Series on Wednesday, July 13, at 7pm. Colvin's most recent album, Shawn Colvin Live, was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Contemporary Folk Album. (See details below)

WEDNESDAY NIGHT AT 7PM

Don't miss “Hungry Ocean” author Linda Greenlaw and Martha Greenlaw in a very special guest appearance tonight, July 6, at 7pm in Portsmouth. Time to grab the family and visit the Raitt Homestead Farm Museum in Eliot, Maine to enjoy all the sights and sounds of yesteryear.  Hundreds of tractor and engine displays will delight all ages July 29 to 31. The circa 1920's Hildreth Woodsplitter will run throughout the day as will a new addition to the show this year -- a circa 1900's 10hp Evans engine. As part of the Prescott Park Arts Festival's 37^th season, a folk icon who must be seen to be appreciated, Cheryl Wheeler, will perform in Prescott Park as part of the River House Concert Series on Wednesday, July 6, at 7pm. "Cheryl is a wildly entertaining performer," says Prescott Park Arts Festival executive director, Ben Anderson. "Every time she visits us, she's a crowd favorite." (Continued below)

The Hampton Beach Master Sand Sculpting Competition in Hampton Beach, NH celebrates 11 years of incredible creations this summer. The event will be held through June 28, and attracts world-famous sand sculptors from all over the world. This year's competition is once again a qualifier for the World Championships of Sand Sculpting; it's the only qualifying event on the East Coast. (Continued below)

Slaid Cleaves will return to Maine again this summer to open the annual Hot Summer Nights concert series in his hometown of South Berwick at 7 pm Wednesday, June 29, in the Marshwood High School Auditorium.
