Inspiring kids to follow their dreams is central to the mission of the Children’s Museum of New Hampshire, so children who are dreaming about exploring the world and digging for buried treasure will want to visit the Museum on Monday, August 5. National Geographic explorer and archaeologist Donny Slater will be the Children’s Museum’s special guest to talk about his career with children and families at11 am and 1:30 pm. EVENTS THRU AUGUST 16

The Cochecho Arts Festival will be back for its 27^th season in Dover and with it will come a new logo.  The Greater Dover Chamber of Commerce released the 2013 Festival logo is popping up all over the Garrison City and the Seacoast as the Festival start date of July 9 draws near.  The Festival in its entirety will run for six weeks, offering over 30 live performances through August 16.(See Schedule below)

The Whittier Home Association announces two dates for this year’s Old Fashioned Tea Parties to be held in John Whittier’s Victorian Garden. The first tea is set for Thursday July 18 with a rain date of Friday July 19. The second tea will be held on Thursday  August 15, with a rain date of Friday, August 16. (Continued below) 

SATURDAYS THRU JULY

The program that began as a pilot to identify pedestrian-friendly street closures back in 2003 was called "Summer in the Street." Well, it's back for 2013. The program, produced by Pro Portsmouth, begins on Saturday, June 22^nd from 5:30 – 9pm with TJ Wheeler & Friends. (Click for summer schedule)

Prescott Park Arts Festival will have something for everyone for their 39^th season’s widely anticipated opening weekend beginning une 28. Evening and matinee performances of the 2013  musical, Annie, will be on the  MainStage Friday through Sunday. The Leapin’ Lizards Luncheon offers kids a chance to meet the entire cast (including Sandy). Internationally renowned Richard Thompson will perform a solo acoustic show on Sunday evening. Join the Portsmouth Historical Society as they celebrate the 266^th birthday of John Paul Jones on the lawn of the historic house that bears his name.  This outdoor concert has become an annual tradition with JPJ fans. On the terraced lawn, under the trees, the music of a large orchestra winds through the city streets. The urban garden is among the oldest intact  in the city. (Continued below)
