Prescott Park Arts Festival will have something for everyone for their 39th season’s widely anticipated opening weekend beginning une 28. Evening and matinee performances of the 2013  musical, Annie, will be on the  MainStage Friday through Sunday. The Leapin’ Lizards Luncheon offers kids a chance to meet the entire cast (including Sandy). Internationally renowned Richard Thompson will perform a solo acoustic show on Sunday evening. “We are so thrilled with the how this season has come together,” says executive director Ben Anderson, “Any expectations we might have had for the musical production were just blown out of the water from the day we held auditions. Couple the musical with our phenomenal music series, special guests for the movies, and new events like the Memorial Bridge race… and we’ve just got a stellar season from start to finish. We can’t wait for it to begin.”

Prescott Park Arts Festival’s season officially opens on Friday, June 28th at 8 pm with the debut performance of the 2013 signature musical, Annie, presented by the Common Man Restaurant. For the first time in 18 years, the Festival is bringing this classic musical back to Prescott Park. The production runs every Thursday through Sunday evening throughout the summer until August 25.

The Leapin’ Lizards Luncheon on Sunday, June 30 offers a unique chance to meet Annie, Sandy, Ms. Hannigan, Daddy Warbucks, and the rest of the crew in Prescott Park. The family-friendly Meet and Greet session will start at 11 am. This kid’s event provides a special reserved seating area for guests, a complimentary lunch from Flatbread Pizza, and frozen yogurt bar from Orange Leaf, plus a variety entertaining family activities to enjoy. Directly following the Leapin’ Lizards Luncheon will be the season’s first of three matinee performances of Annie starting at 1 pm.

Concluding the Festival’s opening weekend in Prescott Park will be British folk-rock legend Richard Thompson to kick off Prescott Park Arts Festival’s River House Restaurant Concert Series with an acoustic solo performance starting at 7 pm. Richard Thompson is known as one of the world’s most critically acclaimed and prolific songwriters. The Festival’s limited tables and blanket reservations for the show sold out quickly, a sign that reaffirmed the consistent reviews for Thompson’s effortless ability to connect with his audiences and put on brilliant performances.

All are welcome to come to Prescott Park with their own lawn chairs and blankets to enjoy the Festival's events for a suggested donation of $5-$8 at the gate. Tables on the Federal Savings Bank VIP Seating Deck are available for reservations through Prescott Park’s website, in addition to the blanket reservations in front of the FairPoint Communications MainStage. Special discount pricing is available for Festival members. All reservations can be made through the Festival’s website at: www.prescottpark.org, or by calling the Festival’s office at 603-436-2848.
