On Wednesday, January 16, 2013, The Music Hall’s Writers in the Loft series welcomes to its intimate stage the author Magnus Flyte. Known as “an international man of mystery,” Flyte is actually a female writing duo comprised of former dancer Meg Howrey and television writer and fashion journalist Christina Lynch. On the heels of press stories about their unique teaming and daring masquerade as a single male writer, the female duo is visiting Portsmouth with their debut novel, CITY OF DARK MAGIC, a fanciful romance-comedy set in the magical city of Prague. DECEMBER 2012
Christmas in Portsmouth kicked off its eighth year. Whether enjoying Candlelight Stroll at Strawbery Banke Museum, Natalie MacMaster at The Music Hall, or lining the streets to witness both the tree lighting and the illuminated parade, people are out in force to celebrate. According to Kathleen Soldati, Director of Marketing at The Music Hall, “We entertained over 2200 patrons at live shows and films in our two theaters on the first weekend of Vintage Christmas.” (Continued below)

Gallery 6 at the Children’s Museum of New Hampshire is taking a playful turn this winter with a new exhibit called TOYS! From December 1, 2012 – March 1, 2013, the walls of Gallery 6 will feature lively and colorful oil paintings by artist Anne Scheer celebrating play with images of classic toys.
