Three royal governors, all Wentworths, ruled over 18^th century NH. This stately Puddle Dock home belonged to John Wentworth, first of the family dynasty that ended with the American Revolution. Sadly, "antiques" dealer Charles Stewart paid $3,500 and deconstructed it in the 1920s. The Metropolitan Museum (NY) and Winterthur Museum (DE) purchased some of its fine woodworking.
