The New Hampshire Society of Photographic Artists, a statewide fine arts not-for-profit organization is offering two unique programs on Star Island, Isles of Shoals, this summer and fall.  Photographer events will take place in July, August, and September. (See details below)

The 4th annual Star Island Digital Photography Workshop is an opportunity for beginning and intermediate photographers to spend a week enhancing photographic skills, learning how to get the most out of a digital camera, creating a portfolio of images, and becoming a better photographer. This is a small conference so it offers participants plenty of opportunity for personal attention. The program concludes with an exhibit. Longtime Isles of Shoals and well-known New Hampshire photographer Peter E. Randall instructs this program which runs from July 30 to August 6.

The 14th Annual Star Island Photo Retreat, September 8-11, offers fine art photographers the opportunity to meet and share their work with others. While the program is open to all, participants should have photography experience. Past participants have included advanced amateurs and working professionals. The guest photographer is Todd Gipstein, who has 40 years experience traveling the world documenting people, places, landscapes, and nature. He has photographed many articles for National Geographic and has served as Director of Multi-Image / Executive Producer for the National Geographic Society. His work for National Geographic included writing and producing shows about geography, history, nature, cultures, photography, environmental issues, and the
Geographic. He also worked with Vice-President Al Gore on media related to
environmental issues.
