On Wednesday, August 28, Prescott Park Arts Festival will welcome Spirit Family Reunion to the FairPoint Communications MainStage in Portsmouth’s Prescott Park as part of the River House Restaurant Concert Series. Spirit Family Reunion will play their lively homegrown Americana music starting at 7 pm. (Continued below) 

“Spirit Family Reunion has truly taken the music scene by storm, and they worked hard to get where they are today,” says executive director Ben Anderson. “Their group plays such genuine, authentic Americana music that’s just brimming with youthful energy. It’s enough to make anyone want to stomp, clap, shake and holler along with it. We’re thrilled to host them and show the Seacoast they’re all about.”

Spirit Family Reunion found their beginnings singing together on the street corners, farmer's markets and subway stations of New York City, which attributes to why their songs have ring-out in a pure and timeless way. Their breakout performance at the Newport Folk Festival in 2012 instantly reserved them two performance slots in 2013. The group continues their tour to promote their new album “No Separation” while their memorable performances accumulate an increasing large fan base as well. Paste Magazine's Best of What's Next says of Spirit Family Reunion, "Dusty acoustic guitars, wailing fiddles and weeping accordions, with a woozy-yet-skintight rhythm section -- and topped off with burr-edged vocals that sound like they've been soaked in a Mason jar for generations -- it's the type of music that blurs the line between past and present so thoroughly, and so deftly, that time feels irrelevant."
