Funds Arriving for New PPAF Pavilion

towncrierlogoHEAR YE! HEAR YE!

Prescott Park Arts Festival has received donations from two area businesses in support of the project to upgrade and improve the Prescott Park pavilion building. Federal Savings Bank has pledged $25,000 and Secure Planning, Inc. has pledged $16,000 towards the building project. (Continued below)

"We are really excited to have both of these businesses provide early support for this project," noted Ben Anderson, executive director. "Both became involved as new sponsors last summer, helping to underwrite the great season and make the performances we offer available to everyone. Now they are showing their support of the arts festival and the community through this generosity."

Prescott Park Arts Festival was awarded $250,000 in donor tax credits for a portion of the pavilion renovation project. This New Hampshire tax credit program enables businesses to invest in community development projects in exchange for a state tax credit worth 75% of the donation.

In September, the city of Portsmouth formally approved the project and will be providing $200,000 towards the estimated $560,000 cost. The Festival will raise funds through the tax credit program and other gifts for the balance. Planned renovations include improving the bathrooms and the concession kitchen.

Anderson added, "These renovations will make a big difference for those coming to the park for Festival events. Offering clean, modern bathrooms and shorter lines will be more pleasant for everyone. The improvements to the kitchen area will mean that we can offer better food faster."

Danielle Grondin, financial and operations principal at Secure Planning, Inc. commented "We at Secure Planning are so excited about this project and our relationship with the Prescott Park Arts Festival. We believe in building a better community and it is apparent that the Festival does too."
