Cocheco_July4_Opening_2012JULY 4 IN DOVER

The 26th annual Cochecho Arts Festival lineup is here. The Festival kicks of July 4 with an all-day celebration in Henry Law Park in Dover, NH that will conclude with the Liberty Mutual Fireworks Display set to begin at 9:15pm.  (See details below)

Dover’s Fourth of July Celebration will include two stages packed with entertainment, sponsored by Federal Savings Bank, starting at 2 pm.  The Rotary Arts Pavilion will host the Garrison Players’ rendition of the Declaration of Independence (2 pm), Northeastern Ballet Theatre’s “Stars & Stripes” performance (3:30 pm) and a patriotic performance from the New Hampshire Army National Guard’s 39th Army Band (6 pm).

Capping off the July 4 Celebration will be local legends, Gazpacho, taking the River Stage in Lower Henry Law Park at 7:30 pm for a “totally awesome 80s experience” that will continue throughout the Liberty Mutual Fireworks.  The River Stage will also feature Tricky Dick’s Magic Show (3 pm), Matt Randall’s Black Belt Academy (4 pm), Mr. B’s Taekwon Do (5:30 pm) and two performances from Americana Roots Rock performer Dan Walker (4:30 pm & 6 pm).  In addition to the stage entertainment, the day will also include children’s amusements and activities, food vendors and an 8 pound hot dog eating contest with Deputy Dogs.

“We are so excited about the full day of activities we have planned in Dover for the 4th,” commented Stephanie Bolduc, July Fourth Committee Chair.  “July Fourth is a special day and through the support of Liberty Mutual, Federal Savings Bank, the City of Dover and countless donations from community members and organizations we have been able to assemble a day that has a little something for everyone and will be remembered by all who attend.”

Throughout the summer, attendees will be able to show their support of the Festival by purchasing a Shaheen & Gordon Festival Button, complete with a unique QR code that when scanned by a smart phone will send users directly to www.CochechoArtsFestival.org.  The collectable button will also feature the 2012 Festival logo created by Reverie Design.  Festival Buttons will be on sale at the Fairpoint Box Office throughout the summer.  The Bank of New Hampshire Festival Program, complete with all necessary Festival information, will also be available at the Box Office.

For all Cochecho Arts Festival information, performance lineup and sponsor information visit www.CochechoArtsFestival.org or the Festival’s Facebook page.  In the event or rain, both webpages will be updated with the latest information on cancellations and venue changes.  You may also call the Greater Dover Chamber of Commerce, (603) 742-2218, with any Festival questions.
