Penhallow & Bow St

Yesterday, 1906, on the corner of Penhallow and Bow Streets, was the establishment of John Holland, Fish and Meats. The advertisement says, "The recent and far reaching investigation of the meat trust, and startling revelations respecting the methods of western packers, has caused many people to think seriously about the food they eat. Patrons of John Holland, Portsmouth's widely known and extensive fish and meat dealer, located at 4 Bow Street are not troubled as it is well known that all meat sold will stand the closest of investigations.

Today, the building has been altered at the street level but it still recognizable by the allocation of the windows on the upper story as well as the wall and chimney of the building to which it is attached (at the Market Street end).
