IN CASE YOU MISSED IT

Swim for the Lights is all about taking to the water to save lighthouses – and we need YOUR HELP to make this unique event a resounding success!

Renowned swimmer Gary Sredzienski will tackle the frigid waters of Portsmouth Harbor on February 26, 2011, and in the process, connect two states, two lighthouses and countless admirers from all over, like never before.

Sredzienski will start his swim early afternoon from Odiorne Point in Rye, New Hampshire, then head across the channel where he will set foot on two lighthouse sites – Whaleback and Portsmouth Harbor, before arising triumphantly from the water at the Kittery Point town dock in Maine.

People from all over New England and throughout the United States cherish lighthouses and want to ACT NOW to help save them – and so does Gary Sredzienski.

Show him your appreciation for his amazing determination and talents by becoming a generous supporter of Swim for the Lights!

All proceeds from Swim for the Lights will benefit the preservation and education mission of the nonprofit American Lighthouse Foundation and its local chapter – Friends of Portsmouth Harbor Lighthouses.

This four-mile swim promises to be one of the finest mid-winter highlights of 2011 – and a vital boost to the efforts of people just like YOU who work tirelessly to safeguard the lights.

Following the swim, at 5:00pm, Gary & his band, the Serfs, will play at a celebration party being held at Captain and Patty’s restaurant, 90 Pepperell Rd (Route 103) in Kittery Point, ME. Tickets are $15 per person.

Don’t be left on the shoreline – become a part of this exciting fun-raiser for lighthouses by supporting Swim for the Lights TODAY!
