Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Greater Seacoast today announced that it is gearing up to host the 1st Annual Seacoast Stiletto Race on Friday, August 20th, 3:30 p.m. – 4:30 p.m. on Chestnut Street (off of Congress) in Portsmouth, NH. (See details and wild poster below)

Anyone 18 years of age and older is welcome to register for $10 and don their favorite high heels for this fashionable dash to the finish line. The stiletto race is a great event for those registrants who simply want to have fun as well as for those who have a competitive spirit.

All heel heights are welcome but only those participants wearing heels two inches and higher will be eligible to win prizes including the grand prize donated by Stiletto on Deer Street. Participants will compete in multiple heats on the uphill side street to determine who will be crowned the Seacoast Stiletto Champion. To register and join in the fun, visit the web site.

A post-race celebration with awards ceremony will be hosted by The Page Restaurant and Bar on Hanover Street in Portsmouth. Sponsors of the event include Fin Brand Positioning and Sykas Law Firm. Development and Marketing Associate, Briana Marshall said, "The goal of the proposed event is to publicize Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Greater Seacoast, build new partnerships with local merchants and to turn this into an annual event that serves the dual purpose of marketing and fundraising for the agency as well as for the City and the local merchants of Portsmouth."

All proceeds generated from this event will go directly towards supporting the 69 Portsmouth youth that Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Greater Seacoast currently serves and the expansion of our services to an additional 11 Portsmouth children in the coming year. Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Greater Seacoast currently serves over 375 children from 39 Seacoast communities.
