On February 3, STAGE FORCE launches its 2014 Play Reading Series with a crisis of faith: Geoffrey Naufft’s Next Fall, the story of a five-year relationship between two men who couldn’t be more perfect for each other – except that sweet, understanding Luke is a born-again Christian, while older, neurotic Adam is a committed Atheist. (Click headline for full article)

It’s a conflict  the two men deal with artfully (and comically) over the course of their relationship, until a chance accident leaves Luke in a coma, and Adam forced to wrangle with Luke’s family, as well as his own conscience and beliefs.

With a story see-sawing between the present and the past, Next Fall plays like a witty sitcom, but with bigger, more thought-provoking issues thrumming in the background. STAGE FORCE’s reading of the play will feature Tommy Labanaris as Adam, and Chris Bradley and Jessica Miller as the couple’s closest friends.  Like all events in the Play Reading Series, Next Fall involves no sets or costumes – just great performances from top Seacoast talent. Be ready to laugh, cry, and challenge yourself with questions about the right to be recognized and the right to love.

The Play Reading Series is presented with support from Kennebunk Savings and is sponsored by Jumpin’ Jays Fish Café, P. Darcy Horgan & Dennis Kleinman and Mike & Cynthia Harvell. Play Readings take place at The Music Hall Loft, 131 Congress Street, Portsmouth.
