On November 12, meet three hilarious killers as STAGE FORCE's Play Reading Series takes on Murderers by Jeffrey Hatcher. There's no whodunit mystery to the crimes Hatcher explores on fictional Riddle Key, Florida. Instead, this collection of three sharply satirical stories is told by the killers themselves, who deliver us a boatload of pitch-perfect black comedy. (Continued below)

There's the tax-evader with an eye to his mother-in-law’s fortune; a vigilante receptionist with a love for crime novels who decides to rid the island's retirement community of nuisances from salesmen to missionaries, and a long-suffering wife who determines to put a stop to her septuagenarian husband's philandering ways.  Among his many stage and screen credits, playwright Hatcher, a favorite of STAGE FORCE, wrote several episodes of COLUMBO, so fans of the murder-mystery-in-reverse will not want to miss this one-performance treat.

Murderers features Brent Askari, Helen Auerbach, and Susan Poulin. It will be read at 7:30 pm at The Music Hall Loft, 131 Congress Street, Portsmouth on November 12. The $12 ticket price includes a complimentary beverage: glass of wine, beer, press pot coffee, White Heron tea, or soft drink.

The Play Reading Series is sponsored by Jumpin' Jays Fish Cafe, with support from the New Hampshire Charitable Foundation. All Play Reading performances start at 7:30 p.m. Doors open at 7:00 p.m. Tickets for the series are $12 and go on sale through The Music Hall box office on Feb 6. They can be purchased in advance at 28 Chestnut Street, Portsmouth, at TheMusicHall.org, or by calling 603.436.2400. Tickets are also available on a walk-up basis on the night of performances at The Music Hall Loft, 131 Congress Street, Portsmouth, if not sold out in advance. For more information about the series, visit STAGEFORCE.org.

The series will conclude on December 16 and 17 with The Ragpicker's Dream, part of The Music Hall's Vintage Christmas.
