![]() The first submarine built at Portsmouth Naval Shipyard was launched from the Franklin Shiphouse in 1917. Two years earlier this blimp was built in the same shiphouse by a visiting German crew. A century old The Franklin Shiphouse burned to the ground in March 10, 1936 in a hellish blaze.
