The Rochester Opera House treats fans to an outstanding live performance by singer Jeffrey Gaines on Saturday, February 5 at 8:00 PM. Gaines acoustic rock & pop blend reveals the flavor of soul and R&B that was “always around the house” and his later influences of Bowie and Lennon.  (Continued below)

Mojo Magazine describes Gaines as “the man who sounds like Oits Redding, Elvis Costello and David Bowie wrapped into one amazing package.” Gaines’ soulful, rough-edged voice touches audiences with soul-searching narratives.

“I only know the first song I’m going to sing, but from there the energy and the vibe tell me what the next song is gonna be,” Gaines says. “That’s so fun to me, keeping it really exciting and spontaneous.”

After the release of Gaines’ hit single In Your Eyes from his fourth album Always Be, he gained national attention and began touring as opening act for Stevie Nicks on her North American Tour.  Gaines has toured internationally with Sting, Melissa Etheridge, Tom Petty, Sheryl Crow, Gregg Allman, Tracy Chapman and Tori Amos.

Seacoast favorite singer/songwriter Dan Walker, who opened for Martin Sexton at the Rochester Opera House in November, returns to open for Jeffrey Gaines with his brand of acoustic Americana Roots Music.   Walker has toured the country and just released his latest album Beautiful characterized as a “foot stompin’ head shakin’ frenzy”.
