Movie Reel Times have changed! Searching for NH film resources on the Internet used to be like like searching for a Raisinet in a theater full of popcorn.

But the NH Film Board has come alive and made NH viable again as place to make movies. So this list that we created way back in 1997 is as useless as (fill in your own metaphor here.) Just visit the NH Film Board and all your wishes will be granted. And when we get a few more minutes, we're going to either update this page or blast it into pixels. This page, therefore, is way out of date. We're in the process of updating it. Got more links? Got NH film questions? To e-mail us, just CLICK HERE.

REGIONAL FILM LINKS

NH FILM OFFICE
The New Hampshire Film and Television Office is waiting to help you with referrals to a talented crew base, location scouting, technical and business data, and production service information.

NORTHEAST HISTORIC FILM (NHF)
A phenomenal and important site created by a non-profit agency devoted to preserving and sharing movie and TV resources and located in the Alamo Theater in Bucksport, Maine. Videos, stock footage, home movies, research, history, exhibits - truly an historic resource unto itself.

NEW ENGLAND FILM.com
An extremely well-produced, highly-readable, monthly electronic magazine based in Boston. Includes updates, articles, how-to, film festivals, behind-the-scenes, reviews, job line.

MAINE FILM OFFICE
Here's a nice welcoming Internet presence for Maine. NH needs same, but nothing we could find on the Net. Hmmmm, is that why so few NH films?

MASSACHUSETTS FILM OFFICE
Helpful info for filmmakers eyeing the Bay State.

PROVIDENCE FILM COMMISSION
Even teeny Rhode Island has this clever web site. NH needs one too.

NEW ENGLAND IN FEATURE FILMS
Best list we've seen of movies based on New England stories and locations. Another NHF resource.

MUGAR OMNI THEATER
If you have never been to the Museum of Science theater, you've never been to the movies. Larger-than-life images are projected on five-story-tall screen.

WEB CINEMA GROUP
New York-based non-profit dedicated to the independent filmmaker using new media technologies to finance, create, produce, distribute and market independent films.

NATIONAL FILM PRESERVATION FOUNDATION
Created by Nat'l Preservation Act of 1996. "Film is history. With every foot of film that is lost, we lose a link to our culture, to the world around us, to each other and to ourselves." We concur.

FAMILY TREES
Our own Lars and Ralph of Portsmouth and their first movie.

AGAINST THE TIDE
Part of this film was shot right in our Portsmouth SeacoastNH.com office by Will Berliner's company Willpower," but this link comes from Bill Millios' web site, since we could not find anything on this film now in post production.

MAN WITH A PLAN
Okay, so director John O'Brien is from Tunbridge, VT, but we saw him and Fred at a showing of "Man With a Plan" at the Music Hall. This is the best example of a small time film we've seen since "Roger and Me" -- and a good web site to boot. New Englanders gotta stick together.

WORKING WITH KEN BURNS
We looked all around for a Florentine Films site, but came up empty. NH-based Ken Burns (Civil War, Baseball, Jefferson, Brooklyn Bridge, The West, Lewis and Clark) is all over PBS.org and interviewed everywhere. Here is an interesting perspective.
