At times suave and charming, but always menacing, Dracula lurks in the wings at the Rochester Opera House to terrify audiences from Thursday, October 21 to Sunday, October 31 with a special scarrrry performance on Halloween Eve at midnight. (Continued below)

In this Ted Tiller stage adaptation of the Bram Stoker novel, a mysterious nobleman from Transylvania moves into a remote neighborhood, nearby Dr. Seward’s sanatorium, in the North of London.  The Doctor’s sister, Sybil, invites the new neighbor to join them for a bite…and soon the beautiful Mina falls gravely ill with an unknown malady.

Dr. Van Helsing, rare disease specialist from Amsterdam, is called in to get to the root of the evil.  Will the villainous vampire be unveiled in time to save the lovely Mina?  This Rochester Opera House Production is directed by Sharon Asher Arsenault.

The Rochester Opera House will donate a portion of the proceeds from the Friday, October 29th performance to benefit the Rochester Christmas Parade Christmas Yet To Come, produced annually by the Greater Rochester Chamber of Commerce.  The parade, one of the best in the Seacoast, kicks off on Sunday, December 5th.

This show is sponsored in part by Eastern Propane & Oil, L. Wynn Sound, Foster’s Daily Democrat and Northeast Credit Union. Reserve tickets online or call the box office at (603) 335-1992 or stop by M/W/F from 10-5.  The Rochester Opera House is located in City Hall, 31 Wakefield Street, Rochester NH.  The season continues with Captured: The Journey Show on 11/6, Illusion Quest on 11/13 and Martin Sexton on 11/20.
