Portsmouth, NH Glebe Land

Glebe Map

Originally the minister's land in downtown Strawbery Banke settlement in 1640, the "Glebe Land" was leased by the North Parish Church in what is now downtown Market Square. According to 19th century historian Charles Brewster, the lease runs out in the year 2730 AD, at which point the downtown property holders would owe the church quintillions of dollars in back unpaid rent.
