The Portsmouth Athenaeum will be holding its annual book sale on Saturday, September 27 from 9-noon at the North Church Parish House on Spinney Road in Portsmouth and will feature rare books from the estates of several prominent area historians. (Click title to read more) 

 

An Early Bird Preview will be held on Fridayevening, September 26 from 5:00-6:15 pm. During the Saturdaysale, “better books” will close at 11:00am.

 

Admission to the early bird preview is $15 per person. There is no charge to attend the book sale on Saturday. Available for purchase will be thousands of used hardcovers for $2.00 and paperbacks for $1.00. Specialty items and ephemera will be individually marked. Proceeds benefit the Portsmouth Athenaeum, a nonprofit membership library.

 

“The annual book sale, which supports the ongoing activities of the Portsmouth Athenaeum, is a great chance to build your home library,” noted David Sanderson, Chairman of the Portsmouth Athenaeum Book Sale Committee. “We are pleased to have the chance to offer rare books and other items from the collections of several area historians as part of this year’s event.”
