Lincoln/Booth Links
Lucy Hale of Dover, NH was reportedly engaged to John Wilkes Booth in 1865. They were seen together the same morning Booth assassinated Abraham Lincoln on April 14. Lucy's father Sen. John P. Hale met with Lincoln the morning of the assassination and was made ambassador of Spain where he intended to take Lucy in order to end her relationship with Booth the actor. The Hale House is open summers in Dover, NH for tours as part of the Woodman Institute.
