New Original Premieres at the Players’ Ring

The Players’ Ring honors a new original work in May when Susan Morse’s new play takes the stage. "Roadside America" stars Sarah Kennedy of Epping as Maggie. Scott Degan of Portsmouth as her husband Joe, and 10-year old Larissa Fogg of Portsmouth as Sam.

Jointing the stage is guitarist and singer Jenn Adams of South Berwick, Maine. Adams play’s troubadour, and created the tune "Nothing at All" for the production. Adams, who recently moved to the Seacoast from Nashville, has released four CDs.

Roadside America was written by Susan Morse and directed by Ralph Morang, both of Berwick, Maine. The play was inspired by a true story. Susan Morse is an award-winning journalist for Seacoast Media Group. Roadside America, her first play, took second place honors in the Gary Newton Play Writing Contest at the Players’ Ring.

Seacoast photographer Ralph Morang owns NewEnglandPhoto.com. He has written and directed productions at the Players Ring and the Actors’ Studio in Newburyport, Mass. and has directed productions at the Rochester Opera House.

"Roadside America" runs Friday May 16th to Sunday, June 1stat The Players' Ring, 105 Marcy Street, Portsmouth NH. Shows are on Fridays and Saturdays at 8pm, Sundays at 7pm. Tickets for general admission are $10 for members, $12 for non-members. Student and senior tickets are $8 for members, $10 for non-members. Reservations are suggested and can be made by calling the Players’ Ring at (603) 436-8123.
