The American Independence Museum has a full calendar of events this holiday season from breakfast with George Washington to a candlelight Christimas. Click for more info below on historic Exeter ladies and kids’ events too.

Remember the Ladies" lecture series
This new series will introduce us to the lives of 18th century women. The evenings are free (again, donations are appreciated) and sponsored by the NH Humanities Council. Each program takes place at 7pm on Wednesday evenings in October at the Folsom Tavern.
October 21 Adam and Mary Spencer present the difficulties of being a properly dressed 18th century lady, complete with stays, stomachers and a bumroll!
October 28 Deborah Sampson, portrayed by Joan Gatturna. Sampson dressed as a man to fight in the Continental Army!
November 7: Breakfast with George Washington
Yum! Eat pancakes with the President! Saturday, November 7; seatings at 10am or 11 am $10 adults $8 children. Members receive $2 pp discount.
President Washington visited the Folsom Tavern on November 4, 1789, and he’ll return to join us for a special breakfast. Admission includes food, a visit with Washington, children’s craft and a child-friendly museum tour. Each session lasts approximately 90 minutes. Register by emailing Stephanie Rohwer at 603-772-2622. Space is limited!
December 3: Candelight Christmas 5 – 7pm at Folsom Tavern Admission fee $8 for members, $10 for not-yet-members
The tavern will glow by candlelight with festive holiday decorations in each room. Visitors will enjoy music, punch, and tasty Christmas delights.
December 5 & 12: A Victorian Child’s Christmas Celebrate the holiday season with your favorite doll! Saturdays, December 5 and 12. Sessions at 10am, 11am, 1pm or 2pm. $20 pp Pre-paid registration necessary. Ages 7 – 11
