MARK YOUR CALENDAR

On October 17, Kent Stephens’ STAGE FORCE continues its annual play reading series with Augusta, the first in New England playwright Richard Dresser’s trilogy about life in Maine, each play detailing the trials and tribulations of a different social class. (See details below)

Middle-aged Molly has worked hard to get where she is – team leader with the local franchise of a national cleaning company, making just enough cash to keep her head above water. Pretty, optimistic Claire, the only other member of Molly’s team, quickly decides she’ll do whatever it takes to avoid letting Molly’s life become her own future. Enter desperate, dimwit manager Jimmy, a ticket to the corporate convention, and a set of stolen silverware, and a frantically hilarious struggle for survival ensues.

Augusta features the talents of Kathy Somssich, Doria Bramante, and Matthew Delamater, and will be presented in the cozy upper gallery of the Kittery Art Association, 8 Coleman Ave., off Route 103 (Pepperrell Road), just south of Cap’n Simeon’s Galley in Kittery Point, Maine.

Reservations are strongly recommended and must be paid in advance. Walk-ins, however, are always welcome and will be accommodated as space allows. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the reading begins promptly at 7:30. Reservations not claimed by that time may be released to accommodate those on the waiting list. Tickets are still only $10. Payment can be made online; ticket sales are not refundable. To make reservations, call (207) 439-5769 ext. 3 or visit www.stageforce.org.

The series will continue on November 14 with Blackbird by David Harrower and concludes on December 12 with the highly-popular Ragpicker’s Dream, a Kent Stephens’ STAGE FORCE holiday tradition.
