Patrick Dorow Productions (PDP) in partnership with The Players’ Ring presents the musical hitSongs for a New World.  The show runs January 23,2015 through February 8 2015 with performances onFridays at 8pm, Saturdays at 3 pm and 8 pm and Sundays at 5pm.  (Click title to read more)

Songs for a New Worldis a unique hybrid of musical and song cycle by acclaimed composer Jason Robert Brown.Brown says, “It’s about one moment. It’s about hitting the wall and having to make a choice, or take a stand, or turn around and go back.” These are the stories and characters of today, the “SONGS FOR A NEW WORLD”, presented by Patrick Dorow Productions.

Brown's music transports the audience from the deck of a 1492 Spanish sailing ship, to a ledge 57 stories above Fifth Avenue. We meet a startling array of characters ranging from a young man who has determined that basketball is his ticket out of the ghetto, to a woman whose dream of marrying rich nabs her the man of her dreams and a soulless marriage. With a small, powerhouse multi-cultural cast and a driving, exquisitely crafted score running the gamut of today's popular music, Songs For a New World is a great way to bring the next generation into the theatre.

 

PDP has assembled an all-star cast featuring equity actors Scottie McLaughlin from the International Tour of “Rent”, Merrill Peiffer from the Broadway Tour of “Mamma Mia” and local favorites Patrick Dorow, Sarah Duclos, Ashley Kelley, and Nick Moulton. Seraphina Caligiure will direct this very talented group.

PDP’s Community Focus Program partner for this production will be Cross Roads House. PDP will be sharing the spotlight topromote and fundraise for this worthy organization. Cross Roads’ mission is to protect men, women and children of the Greater Seacoast area experiencing homelessness.
