Ragpickers DreamMARK YOUR CALENDAR

Long-lost loves and unexpected homecomings mingle with poetry, song, and outrageous laughs when The Ragpicker's Dream returns to the stage of The Music Hall Loft on December 6 and 7 as part of this year's "Vintage Christmas in Portsmouth." (Click title to read more)

Once again, STAGE FORCE Founder Kent Stephens has adapted a range of pieces from sources as varied as Kenneth Graham’s The Wind in the Willows and John Waters to create an evening that runs the full range of feeling this special time of year evokes: poignancy, nostalgia, humor and touches of the miraculous and ridiculous.

This beloved annual event features the talents of top performers Doria Bramante, CJ Lewis, James Sears, Kathy Somssich, Kent Stephens, and Susan Poulin, who brings along her outrageously funny alter-ego, Ida LeClair, to share a few down-to-earth reflections on the joys of the holiday season.

This year's performances will take place on Saturday, December 6 at 4:00 p.m. and Sunday, December 7 at 2:00 p.m. Patrons of the Saturday performance will enjoy the opportunity for an extra-special treat. The show ends just in time for those attending to gather in the Loft's lobby bar to enjoy a perfect view of Portsmouth's annual Illuminated Holiday Parade, one of the most popular events of the season.

This year's performances of The Ragpicker’s Dream are sponsored by Autoworks. Reservations are strongly recommended. Walk-ins, however, are always welcome and will be accommodated as space allows. Doors open a half-hour before show time. Tickets are $18 and include a complimentary house beverage. The Ragpicker's Dream is sponsored by Autoworks. To book, visit The Music Hall Box Office at 28 Chestnut Street, Portsmouth, call 603.436.2400, or visit TheMusicHall.org.
