Beautiful seascapes, wonderful horses, lovely florals and more at the Annual Great Bay Art Association Exhibit beginning June 4 at the Discover Portsmouth Center. Exhibit runs through June 2010 and includes exceptional original works by 18 New Hampshire and Maine members.

Exhibit includes a wide range of  media including watercolors, pastel, oil, scratchboard, acrylic, monoprint, photography, and mixed media. Most of these artists are well known in the local area and some have national and international acclaim. The show is free and open to the public daily, 10am-5pm.

Meet the artists at the Opening Reception, Friday June 4th, 5-8. The event is free and open to the public. Originals, prints, and notecards by the artists will be for sale. The reception will be held in conjunction with the Portsmouth Historical Society 90th Anniversary Exhibit & Rye Historical Society, “Summering on the Seacoast” exhibit reception and Portsmouth 'Art Around Town'.  Mark your calendar for an art filled night in Portsmouth of visual treasures. Light refreshments will be served. Start here and work your way around the town to visit the local galleries open that night.

Also, several GBAA member artists will be demonstrating their talents with various painting demonstrations on Sunday, June 6th, 10am-5pm. Free and open to the public. See how the artwork is created.

The Great Bay Art Association exists to bring together those who share an active interest in the arts and crafts, to provide opportunities for exhibiting and selling members' work, and to stimulate interest and support of the arts in the community. The association is made up of a wide variety of styles of talented artists including professional business people and amateur artists.
