Seven Stages Shakespeare Company launched Shakespeare’s Pen, an open workshop for actors, artists, designers, and humans of all walks of life to come together and share in the splendor of Shakespeare's words. The next date for Shakespeare’s Pen is Monday October 14 from 5:30 to 7:30 pm at The Players’ Ring theater.  As with all 7SSC’s programs, this event is "Pay What You Will.” (Continued below) 

Based directly on the Shakespeare Forum's open workshops in New York City, this program is designed to bring people from all backgrounds into the same room and provide a safe place to learn, discuss, and grow.  Using Shakespeare as a central theme, attendees are invited to share thoughts, pieces they have been working on, pieces they have always wanted to work on, or just listen.

"Working with the Shakespeare Forum in NYC changed my life for the better,” says 7SSC co-founder Dan Beaulieu. “Our goal with Shakespeare’s Pen is to provide that creative space here on the seacoast.”

Shakespeare’s Pen happens monthly, and each Pen is facilitated by a panel of 7SSC artists. Over the course of each evening six to eight people chosen at random at the beginning of the night get a chance to work on anything they have brought in.

From Shakespeare aficionados to the Shakespeare novice, the Pen is a safe haven to come and play, share ideas and grow -- both as an artist and as a human. “If you've always wanted to know how actors work behind the scenes,” says Beaulieu, “this is a great way to find out.”
