Clayton Inspires Aspiring Writers

John_Clayton_at_SWAThe Seacoast Writer’s Assocatin (SWA) is accepting registrations for their annual spring conference to be held May 15th at the McConnell Center (next to the Library) in Dover NH. Enjoy a full day of networking, workshops, and an inspiring keynote address by author and award-winning journalist, John Clayton. (continued bbelow)

Keynote speaker Clayton is a reporter and columnist for the "Union Leader,"talking on "A Life Sentence." Clayton also presents an afternoon non-fiction workshop, "Column as you see ‘em." 

Other afternoon workshops are "Flash Fiction," with award-winning short-short story writer Carla Gericke; "Poetry: Be Your Own Editor—The Art of Revision," with poet, editor and composer John-Michael Albert; and "Everything you Wanted to Know About Copyright Law But Were Afraid to Ask" with Matt Saunders, an attorney specializing in intellectual property law.  

The conference opens with the announcement of winners in the 2010 SWA writing contest. First-place winners will read their winning entries.  

fter May 1, registration is $55 for members and $70 for non-members. Price includes a continental breakfast, coffee break, and luncheon, all catered by Green Bean.
