-----------------------------------

Art Garfunkel’s "beautiful countertenor," as Neil Strauss described his voice in The New York Times, is clear and resonant, surely one of the finest instruments in all of popular music, and a time-honored friend to a world of listeners.

Mr. Garfunkel was originally revered for his Grammy-winning, chart-topping songs and albums with partner and fellow NYC native Paul Simon. Their greatest hits collection, which includes Mrs. Robinson, Scarborough Fair, The Sound Of Silence, The Boxer and Bridge Over Troubled Water, among others, is the biggest selling album ever by a duo.

After Simon & Garfunkel parted ways in 1970, Garfunkel landed several major film roles, including two directed by Mike Nichols, Carnal Knowledge (opposite Jack Nicholson), and Catch 22. Solo albums have included hits such as I Only Have Eyes for You. Beyond performing, he writes poetry, is a voracious reader, and has trekked across America and Japan. His latest – and 12th – album Some Enchanted Evening features some of the 20th century’s greatest songwriters, including Rodgers & Hammerstein, Irving Berlin, Harold Arlen, Antonio Carlos Jobim and George Gershwin.

The Intimately Yours series, sponsored by 92.5 The River, has been hailed as a "crowd-pleaser" by The Portsmouth Herald: "it bring(s) the brightest and best the music industry has to offer to…one of the best venues in the Northeast. To date, they’ve brought in artists that were on the cusp of blowing up (Ray LaMontagne, Brandi Carlile) to seasoned veterans that you’re hard pressed to find playing a venue as small as The Music Hall (The Neville Brothers, Bruce Hornsby, Rufus Wainwright, etc.)…a series that continues to bring compelling offerings to Seacoast music fans."
