ABOUT THESE FILMS

Philomena

Based on a true story. Philomena Lee (Judi Dench) is mother to a boy given up for adoption. In following her church doctrine, she signed a contract that wouldn't allow for any inquiry into the son's whereabouts. Years later, Lee meets a reporter (Steve Coogan) with whom she decides to discover her son.

Maidentrip

Documentary of 14-year-old Laura Dekker who sets out -- camera in hand -- on a two-year voyage in pursuit of her dream to be the youngest person ever to sail around the world alone. In the wake of a long battle with Dutch authorities, Laura finds herself far from land, family and unwanted media attention, exploring the world in search of freedom and adventure.

Leviathan

A thrilling, immersive documentary that takes one deep inside the dangerous world of commercial fishing. Set aboard a hulking vessel as it navigates the treacherous waves off the New England coast, capturing the harsh, unforgiving world of the fishermen in haunting, yet beautiful detail.

The Past

New from the writer/director of A Separation. An Iranian man reunites with his estranged wife (Bérénice Bejo) in Paris to finalize their divorce, which is soon complicated by a shocking revelation by her daughter from a previous marriage. Golden Globe nominee for Best Foreign Language Film.

Inside Llewyn Davis

New from the Coen brothers. Nominated for two Oscars. A week in the life of a young folk singer as he navigates the Greenwich Village folk scene of 1961. Guitar in tow, huddled against the unforgiving New York winter, he is struggling to make it as a musician against seemingly insurmountable obstacles.

The Rocket
A boy who is believed to bring bad luck leads his family (and a couple of ragged misfits) through Laos to find a new home. After a journey through a land scarred by war, the boy builds a giant rocket to enter a most lucrative but dangerous rocket competition and to prove he's not cursed.

Broken Circle Breakdown

Elise (Veerle Baetens) and Didier (Johan Heldenbergh) fall in love at first sight. She has her own tattoo shop and he plays banjo in a bluegrass band. They bond over their shared enthusiasm for American music and culture, and dive headfirst into a sweeping romance that plays out on and off stage.

Bettie Page Reveals All

An intimate look at one of the world's most recognized sex symbols, told in her own words for the first time. In this alluring documentary, the real Bettie Page emerges from the veil of myth and rumor via audio interviews taped a decade prior to her death in 2008.

Grand Piano

Tom Selznick (Elijah Wood), the most talented pianist of his generation, stopped performing in public because of his stage fright. Years after a catastrophic performance, he reappears in public for a long-awaited concert in Chicago. In front of the packed theater, Tom finds a terrifying message written on the score. Also stars John Cusack.

The Invisible Woman

Nelly (Felicity Jones), a happily-married mother and schoolteacher, is haunted by her past. Her memories take us back in time to the story of her relationship with Charles Dickens (Ralph Fiennes) with whom she discovered an exciting but fragile complicity.
