towncrierlogoHEAR YE! HEAR YE!

I ask that you visit Popovers on the Square in Portsmouth, NH this Wednesday, August 10th, anytime from 7am to 11pm and buy any type of coffee related product while you are there.  That day, Popovers is celebrating their fifth anniversary and as a way of saying "Thank you" to the commiunity, John Tinios (owner of Popovers) is making a magnanimous offer to benefit a cause that is very important to Portsmouth and all of us.  (Continued below)

Essentially John is saying that for every coffee-based product (hot coffee, ice coffee, latte', cappuccino, etc. etc.) Popovers sells from the moment they open until they close on Wednesday August 10th, Popovers will donate 50% of the price to the Memorial Park for the African Burying Ground which is going to be built on Chestnut Street in Downtown Portsmouth.

As if that is not generous enough, John has pledged he will personally match the Popovers donation!  This means that 100% of all  Popovers coffee sales for the 10th will be donated to the African Burying Ground! That is an incredibly generous act on John Tinios's part and I ask each of you to spread the word to your neighbors and friends to stop by Popovers throughout the day and support this wonderful cause.

We are especially hoping there are a lot of people at Popovers at 7am on Wednesday when they open their doors.  I hope to see you at Popovers on Wednesday!

All the Best,
George Carlisle
