Sarni holds a Master’s degree in History and Museum Studies from the University of New Hampshire. She is a Seacoast native, but has worked at several museums and historical societies throughout New England. She has been awarded fellowships byNH Historical Society and Historic New England.

In 2010 Sarni was invited to participate in the esteemed Dublin Seminar. Her conference paper on the Folly Cove Designers was selected for publication in the seminar’s annual proceedings. She has since continued to research and write about the famed group of block printers and is currently completing her first book on the subject.

As to this new chapter in her career, Sarni remarked, “I am thrilled to join Wentworth Lear Historic Houses (WLHH) and am excited about the slate of programs and events that we have lined up for the season. The organization has a tremendous amount of energy right now due to an expanded Board of Directors and an LCHIP grant, which will allow us to begin the process of residing and repainting the Wentworth-Gardner House.” The Wentworth-Gardner House is acclaimed for being one of America’s finest examples of Georgian architecture. It was also once the home of celebrated artist Wallace Nutting.

Wentworth Lear Historic Houses is comprised of both the Wentworth-Gardner House and the adjacent Tobias Lear House so one ticket gains visitors access to two houses. Both houses will open for the season on Thursday, June 12. In celebration of Father’s Day, WLHH will offer free admission on Sunday, June 15. WLHH has extended its hours of operation and will now be open Thursdaythrough Mondayfrom 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
