Built on the site of the 1731 South Meeting House church, the 1866 "Third Ward Hall" was both school and public function hall. Black citizens celebrated Emancipation Day here in 1882. It was restored in the 1960s when a benefactor, noticed that the clock in the tower had stopped. It served as the Children’s Museum from 1983 to 2008. (SEE two bonus photos)
