About The Front Porch
The Front Porch with John Walters is quite simply about the people who make New Hampshire an interesting place to live. Each weekday, John talks with people active in business, the arts, our history, our environment -- in fact, every aspect of our lives.

About the Show
The Wentworth by the Sea is one of the last remaining Grand Hotels in New Hampshire and the only one on the Seacoast. The hotel’s historic significance, its near demise, and its miraculous return are all captured in a new book by J. Dennis Robinson. Dennis is a teacher, columnist, video producer and owner/editor of www.SeacoastNH.com. Wentworth by the Sea: The Life and Times of a Grand Hotel is published by Peter Randall Publishing.

About the NH PR Team

John Walters, Host
John hosts The Front Porch and All Things Considered. He came to NH from his native state of Michigan in January 2000, just in time to experience the joys of winter and the primary season.

He got started in radio at the University of Michigan's student station. By graduation time, he was working for the U-M's public radio station. After a few years, he moved into other endeavors. But in the late 1980s, he was back in radio - and eventually, back at Michigan Radio.

He was an on-air host and reporter for seven years, before coming to NHPR. John says public radio is the best place to investigate issues, to tell stories, paint pictures in sound, and interview some of the most interesting people in the world.

Shay Zeller, Producer
Originally from New Orleans, Shay graduated from Centenary College of Louisiana with a B.A. of Music. During college she worked at WWNO- New Orleans and Red River Radio- in Shreveport. After graduating from Centenary, she spent a year with Dewey, Cheetham, and Howe at Car Talk Plaza learning a great deal about fixing cars and creating radio programs. (She claims there was a time when she could actually diagnose car problems without ever looking under the hood.) Today, Shay sings with the Tanglewood Festival Chorus and studies voice at the Concord Community Music School.
