Pull and Be Damned Point

Sailing around the tip of Henderson's Point 1905 / Strawbery Banke ArchiveStrawbery Banke Presents

Henderson’s Point disappeared in a hellish explosion on July 22, 1905. The $749,000 man-made explosion, many years in the planning, removed a dangerous spit of land jutting into the Piscataqua. The first photo shows the Kittery, Maine point. The second was taken 10-minutes after the explosion when 340-feet of land had been blown away.
