Strawbery Banke Presents
HISTORIC PORTSMOUTH #111

Portsmouth was recently designated among the best shopping sites in New England. Here in 1904 two women window shop on Congress St. for bonnets next to a display of fresh bananas at Joseph Dondero’s fruit store. Paintings, books, sheet music and shoes are also in evidence as a peanut vendor turns the crank on his roaster.
