Strawbery Banke Presents
HISTORIC PORTSMOUTH #145
Even before it opened in 1965 Strawbery Banke had a unique team of tour guides. The Strawbery Banke "belles" wore white gloves and dresses printed with a strawberry pattern. In 1967 the belles escorted Lady Bird Johnson, around Puddle Dock. The First Lady cut the ribbon to open the new Dunaway Store, now a restaurant.
