The "Strawbery Belles" were the first tour guides at the museum that opened in 1965. This group is standing at the Liberty Pole that once marked the bridge over the tidal inlet to Puddle Dock. Prescott Park, visible in the background, shows a playground, prior to installation of the gardens.
