SeacoastNH.com Presents
Historic Portsmouth #394
Normally we would be getting antsy for summer about this time of year. But thanks to global warming, it’s still balmy in January. These young ladies are modeling the perfect winter beachware for the near future when we can add a whole new tourists season to the Seacoast. (Continued below)
Of course, the seacoast will be back up around Route 125 where it was after the last Ice Age. So be sure to hang onto that proto-beachfront property in Lee and Durham. This photo says the bathing beauties are unidentified, but another image in the archive shows six very similar women posing in the sand. That group is identified as the Vincent Club of Rye Beach. If they are the same ladies, then the photo shows (not necessarily in this order) Margaret Fletcher, Maude Trefethen, Alice Reinewald, Florence Rindge, Laura Rutledge, Annie Muchmore.
