HISTORIC PORTSMOUTH #182

In 1959 a band of volunteers formed what became the Guild of Strawbery Banke, dedicated to raising funds for the new museum. Founding members pose here in at the John Paul Jones House in the early 1960s. The late Margaret Smith is at the far right. Cynthia Raymond (center), now in her mid-90s, is still an active museum benefactor.
