HISTORIC PORTSMOUTH #131

After three devastating holiday fires in the early 1800s, Portsmouth invested in top-notch equipment. By 1901 the city had four steamers, a hook and ladder, an extinguisher and a supply wagon. Pumper Moses H. Goodrich #4 is on display here in front of the former Hanover St. station at the annual fireman’s muster.
