A Crowded Concord Coach |
Strawbery Banke Presents
HISTORIC PORTSMOUTH #69
Thirteen lucky riders perch on the crowded upper deck of this Concord coach from the Adams-Drake line. Accidents did happen. Visiting grocery store employees from Boston were thrown from a coach in North Hampton in 1890. Still, coaches flourished until the arrival of the trolley. This group is departing from the SW Foss boarding house in Rye.
