ROBERT DENNIS

Robert Dennis loves this town. In recent years his photographs of the Kennebunks have appeared just about everywhere – including here. Following is just a sample of the artist’s ever-expanding collection of photos from the scenic Maine fishing village and summer home even to a president.

Robert DennisRobert Dennis succumbed to the Kennebunkport allure and bought his second home there over a decade ago. An avocational photographer with a passion for the Maine coast, Dennis moonlights as a mutual fund manager from Massachusetts. His photos are available in local galleries and can be seen in guidebooks, postcards and even Yankee magazine. We first met him when he supplied cover shots for our South Coast Maine video "101 Highlights".

"To me," Robert says, "the Kennebunks represent the best that the Maine coast has to offer -- the architectural treasure of historic sea captains' homes, a quintessential working fishing village, a vital riverway."

Land travelers must arrive at Kennebunkport along the twisting seaside route, and it's best to park and walk among the shops, restaurants and historic sites. But first, scan this all-season sketchpad of local images, and featuring Cape Porpoise too.. -- JDR
