A Perfect August Weekend
Page 1 || Page 2

Well here it is at last, the amazing 17-foot tall wooden keg tapped this weekend in honor of the 375th Celebration at Red Hook Brewery. Our webmaster Tim was in heaven as he took this unprecedented photo
opportunity to man the taps of the "World's Largest Beer Barrel." We
have not seen him since. The barrel was created by NH company Spaulding and Frost.

You can't take a bad photo of this place in August. Here's a digitial grabshot off the bridge at Badger's Island, a little spit of land
between Kittery and Portsmouth. It was once called Rising Castle and was the site where John Langdon built the ship Ranger for John Paul Jones. Makes you just wish you lived here with us, doesn't it?

Near the new Portsmouth Marketplace we caught City Councilor Bea Marconi and her daughter doing their patriotic bit -- selling 375th
t-shirts and tote bags in Market Square. If you want one, just email us
and we'll put you in touch. We're connected, you know. No kidding, the
mayor gave us a free one. Jealous?

The sun sets on another perfect August day at Hampton Beach.
You'd never know from this photo, but across the street about 100,000
people are eating fried dough and playing video games at the arcade. Go figure.
